I have a PayPal account, and when i go in the Statements section, they only have a history of the past 3 months of Statements, forcing me to download them. I have noticed several such limitation with accounts i have with other banks. Maybe not 3 months, but 2 years, or 3 years.

In the digital era we are in today, this makes no sense at all. PDF's take up so little space, that banks could easily store all statements that were generated for that customer. And even if storage is an issue, PDF's can be generated on the fly, per request! So assuming the bank institution keeps records of all transactions of a given account, they system could produce a PDF for a statement that was issued 5 or 10 years ago.

I don't understand this limitation, and i feel weird about it. Anyone else with a similar sensation? Anyone know more about this?

Ho un account con Paypal e nella sezione degli estratti conto, vedo solo gli ultimi 3 mesi. Sono quindi obbligato a scaricarmeli ogni tanto, e salvarmene una copia per conto mio. Ho notato limitazioni simili anche per conti che ho con altre banche. Magari posso andare indietro di 2 o 3 anni, ma mai per tutta la vita del conto.

Questo non ha più senso nell'epoca digitale in cui ci troviamo. I file PDF occupano così poco spazio che le banche potrebbero tranquillamente archiviare tutti gli estratti conto di tutti i clienti (e probabilmente lo fanno). Inoltre, se anche lo spazio fosse un problema, con la tecnologia di oggi, non è molto complicato generare PDF su richiesta. Il che vuol dire che il sistema potrebbe generare l'estratto conto di 5 o 10 anni fa.

Non capisco, e mi sento un po' strano riguardo questa limitazione. C'è qualcun altro che la pensa come me, o che ne sa qualcosa?
